| FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – FEBRUARY
5, 2010 – Boat International Media recently announced the 2010
World Superyacht Awards Finalists. Two of these yachts are members
of The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals’ Central Agency Charter
Fleet: the 160-foot (49.5M) Christensen ODESSA, a Finalist for Best
Displacement Motor Yacht of Below 500 GT (30M to 49.9M), and the 130-foot
(40M) Westport MISS MICHELLE, a Finalist for the Best Semi-Displacement
or Planing Motor Yacht 40M+ Size Range.
The World Superyacht Awards, which recognize the
achievements of the naval architects, designers, builders and ultimately,
the owners’ vision behind the finest new superyachts launched
in the prior year, will be presented on May 22, 2010 at a gala ceremony
held in London’s Guildhall.
“Even before the World Superyacht Awards
Finalists were announced, ODESSA and MISS MICHELLE were creating
a ‘buzz’ within the international yacht charter community,”
said The Sacks Group President and Charter Specialist Jennifer M.
Saia. “These spectacular yachts represent the very latest
in luxury yacht design, and we are excited that the WSA judges have
recognized them for it. We are cheering them on to win their respective
categories.”
The high-level design collaboration behind each
of these two new vessels has a direct impact on her ability to provide
a world-class luxury charter experience. Few people are in a better
position to appreciate this than their captains.
“The reaction to the yacht has been
amazing,” said Captain Robert Lowden of the striking black-and-silver
superyacht ODESSA. “Everybody who comes on board is blown
away….”

M/Y ODESSA
Representing a new high-water mark for Christensen
Shipyards’ Custom Series, ODESSA accommodates up to 12 guests
in six staterooms fitted out with iPod docks and access to the central
Kaleidescape entertainment system. Four of the cabins, including
the master and VIP, have king beds; there also is a queen stateroom
and guest suite configured with a double and twin bed – perfect
for a nanny and child.
ODESSA’s elegant interior décor is by Armani Casa.
“While some would call it minimal, I would call the interior
modern, organized and thoughtful,” said Capt. Lowden, who
added that the vast exterior spaces are also well laid out. “The
yacht has an elevator to all decks, a 12-person hot tub, an exterior
BBQ and a 50-inch plasma that deploys from the flybridge hardtop
to allow for watching sports during the day and open-air movies
at night,” he said. “People really, really love the
yacht inside and out.”
It’s clear that ODESSA’s designers had her 10-person
crew in mind as well as the guests. “Great care was taken
during the design and build to make servicing the guests not only
a priority but also easier on the crew. Wine and beverage storage
was not only increased, but it also was spread out all over the
yacht so that guests could have easy access to it…some guests
like to grab what they want for themselves,” he explained,
adding, “For those guests who do want to be pampered at all
times, we have that covered as well. All of the staterooms and guest
areas have call buttons on the television remotes that will text
a crew member telling that service is needed and where.”
The star of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last autumn,
ODESSA will be at the Christensen Shipyards display at the Yacht
& Brokerage Show in Miami Beach, February 11-15, 2010, where
she will be available for viewing by appointment only through Christensen.
ODESSA is available for charter in The Bahamas this winter season
at a rate of U.S. $240,000 per week, plus expenses. In summer 2010,
she will move to the Western Med, where her High Season rate is
U.S. $285,000 per week, plus expenses, and her Low Season rate is
U.S. $275,000 per week, plus expenses. “She already has a
three-week booking for July 2010,” said Saia. (Please note
that ODESSA is not for sale or charter to U.S. residents while in
U.S. waters.)
Captain Marc Wellnitz reported that Westport Yachts’ advanced
interior design and exterior layout for MISS MICHELLE, the first
yacht to be launched in the newly restyled Westport 40M Series,
have made her a “great entertainer”.

“We have two separate entertainment
areas inside and three outside, to allow guests to enjoy movies
and satellite TV all over the boat – and even in the hot tub,”
Capt. Wellnitz said. “The ample space on the flybridge can
be used for lounging, hot-tubbing and dining simultaneously. We
have fridges and freezers on every outdoor deck for guests to have
access to drinks and snacks.”
MISS MICHELLE accommodates 10 guests in five large
staterooms, including a full-beam, main-deck master suite. Seven
crew are housed in highly functional quarters on the lower deck.
Guests love the fact that, “Spacious walkarounds, companionways
and many crew entrances to dining and lounging areas keep interruption
from the crew to a minimum,” said Capt. Wellnitz.
Speed is another one of this yacht’s main
assets – she takes guests to their ultimate vacation destinations
faster than many other charter yachts, thanks to her semi-displacement
hull, powered by twin 12V 4000 MTUs, which provide a cruising speed
of 20 knots. Once there, she’s an ultra-stable platform thanks
to at-anchor stabilization.
MISS MICHELLE is currently in the Turks
& Caicos for the month of February, after which she will move
to The Bahamas. Her winter charter season rate is U.S. $120,000
per week, plus expenses. This summer, Capt. Wellnitz has an exciting
itinerary planned that will take the yacht to the Eastern and Western
Med, including Venice, Croatia, Turkey and the Amalfi Coast. Her
summer charter rates are U.S. $140,000 per week, plus expenses in
High Season and U.S. $130,000 per week, plus expenses in Low Season.
(Please note that MISS MICHELLE is not for sale or charter to U.S.
residents while in U.S. waters.)
